The story of…
Suar wood
Our Suar wood pieces are shaped and finished by hand by woodworkers in Java, in small local workshops rather than factories.
Suar comes from the rain tree, a dense tropical hardwood with a bold, swirling grain, so no two pieces are ever the same.
Made by human hands
Indu House began with a simple frustration: too much of what filled our homes was anonymous. So we went back to my roots in Indonesia and found the opposite. Weavers at their doorsteps, potters shaping clay the way their grandparents did, carpenters giving old teak a second life.
We work with them directly, with no middlemen or agents, and bring their work to your door.
