Our Story
Indu House began with a simple frustration: too much of what filled our homes was anonymous. Mass-produced. Disposable. We wanted something different, objects with a provenance, a process, a person behind them.
So I returned home to Indonesia and found exactly that. Rattan weavers sitting at their doorsteps chatting with friends. Terracotta potters shaping clay the same way their parents and grandparents had done. Carpenters breathing new life into reclaimed teak. Each piece a genuine one-off because no two hands ever make exactly the same thing twice.
We bring their work directly to you. No middlemen, no warehouses full of unsold stock. Just beautiful objects, made slowly, built to last.
Natural materials. Nothing synthetic. Ever.
RATTAN
Harvested sustainably from Southeast Asian forests. Woven by hand into baskets, bowls, trays, and storage that only get better with age.
TERRACOTTA
Hand-thrown by Javanese potters using traditional techniques. Each vase carries the subtle marks of the wheel, proof it was made, not manufactured.
BAMBOO
One of the world's fastest-growing plants. Woven into wall decor and baskets that bring texture and warmth to any wall or shelf.
RECLAIMED WOOD
Salvaged teak and suar wood given a second life. The grain, the knots, the patina are all part of the story each piece tells.
Meet the Makers
What we stand for
Slow by design
We don't chase trends or volume. Our collection grows carefully, only adding pieces we'd genuinely want in our own homes. Each one made with intention, not stockpiled in a warehouse.
Fair and Direct
We work with our makers directly. No agents, No intermediaries and No factories.
Made with intention
Natural materials age beautifully. A rattan basket doesn't go in the bin after a season. A terracotta vase gets better as it develops its patina. We make things worth keeping.
"In a world of automation and synthetics, we want to bring human-made back into the heart of our homes."
- Indu House, founding principle
Bring something real home.
