The story of…
Terracotta pottery
Our terracotta is shaped by hand by potters in Java, in regions where the soil is naturally rich in clay. They dig the clay locally and clean it with water from the stream.
Each piece is then fired in a traditional wood-fired kiln, which leaves its own marks, so no two are ever quite the same.
Made by human hands
Indu House began with a simple frustration: too much of what filled our homes was anonymous. So we went back to my roots in Indonesia and found the opposite. Weavers at their doorsteps, potters shaping clay the way their grandparents did, carpenters giving old teak a second life.
We work with them directly, with no middlemen or agents, and bring their work to your door.
